Hey friends!
If you decorate your home for Christmas, you know that the feeling when the decorations are taken down after the holidays is … naked. Bare. Cold, even? The need for warmth and coziness is still big in January and February. So, what do we do? Well, we decorate of course! Here are a few things you can make yourself or buy at a very student budget friendly price at a second-hand store.
New lamp – go on the hunt for a replacement for the softly shining advent stars. Or buy a new lamp shade to switch things up!
Plant cuttings – yes! New life to the apartment. Write a post on Facebook, on Your Block or put up a note in your neighborhood and see if someone wants to switch or give away plants.
Candles – put some on a tray or group some tea light holders on your table. Candles always bring that extra cozy feeling.
Garlands – instead of the sparkly, red or green garlands – make a spring-summery feeling one. All you need is some string, paper, scissors, a stapler and some inspiration and you’re good to go.
Wall hanging – it’s absolutely possible to make a wall hanging yourself, but if you’re not the best at crochet or weaving, second-hand is your friend.
Clay sculpture – make some clay or buy at your local craft store. Then, make yourself a cute rainbow or another cool shape to spruce up your space.
String lights – next to candles, this might be the easiest trick to cozy up a room, don’t you think?
