Hey friend!
Do you have plans for your summer break? Here are some tips on things to do if you’re staying in town!
Boat ride through a waterway lock – as of this year, there’s a boat line from Linköping to Berg’s locks, including a lock in Nykvarn’s lock in Kinda canal. Go round-trip or bring your bike and go by boat one way and bike the other.
Visit a castle – there are several historic buildings, castles, churches and monasteries in the Linköping area. An example is Ekenäs Castle where you can go on a guided tour of about an hour and enjoy the beautiful surroundings (or try getting a ticket for a ghost walk). There is also a castle café for fika.
Work in the field – yes, in Fröberget Tinnerö Eklandskap, the Linköping Ecopark Association invites you to mow the fields. Beat grass with a scythe, gather and finish off by eating a herring and potatoes meal with the rest of the gang! Cool!
Use your phone to discover the city – it may sound a bit contradictory, but there are apps where you can go on a history trip and learn more about, and maybe see the city from a new perspective! Check out Storyhunt and Questropolis.
